The Economics Department is located on the 5th and 6th floors of Evans Hall. The Macro Seminar generally meets Thursdays from 2-3:30 p.m. in 639 Evans. My office is 609 Evans, (510) 643-1564.
Campus map and (university) visitor informationIf we have arranged this with you, we will have a parking permit waiting for you at East Gate, which is on the east side of campus just off of Gayley Road. Here's a campus map that is zoomed in to show East Gate at the center and Evans Hall, which houses our department on the 6th floor, on the left.
At East Gate, they will direct you to a parking lot. Most likely, this will be a little further up Gayley Road (i.e. to the north), across the street at the intersection with Hearst Ave, under the tennis courts at A-5 on the map.
You need to get to the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Upon exiting, you'll want to walk east up the hill to campus. It's probably a 10-15 minute walk to Evans Hall... (On the large map of campus, the BART station is to the far left, at C-1; the Economics Department is in Evans Hall at B-5).
If you decide to take a cab (which is the easiest thing to do from airports), the best thing to do is probably to have them drop you off at the corner of Telegraph and Bancroft in Berkeley. That will put you at E-4 on this map.
You should then walk north into the middle of campus to Moffit Library and then make a right turn (east): you'll be at the bottom of a large open space; looking directly up the hill you'll see Evans Hall (at B-5 on the map). You have to go around the other side of Evans to enter, from the east side, and take the elevator to the 6th floor.
