Naming Conventions

 

Files should follow ``conventional'' naming patterns. The names can be any reasonable length (not limited to 8 characters) and extensions should flag the nature of the contents. These extensions are Unix standards or those chosen by software manufacturers. The table below gives a listing of common extensions.
