Raj Chetty was educated at Harvard University, where he received his PhD in 2003, the same year he became an assistant professor at Berkeley. He was promoted to associate professor in 2007. He serves on the Board of Editors for the Journal of Economic Literature and is a Co-Editor for the Journal of Public Economics.
Professor Chetty is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He was a 2005 recipient of the Smith Richardson Public Policy Research Fellowship and has received three multi-year National Science Foundation grants, including most recently a CAREER Grant in 2006.
